Fairy Godmothers Fairytale
In February, we took in 15 bunnies from a neglect case. The bunnies were dubbed the “F15.”
All 15 bunnies had been part of an elderly man’s rabbitry, but he quit selling them and instead just let all of the bunnies (there were likely 2+ dozen at one point) interact. They were all unfixed and hormonal which was a recipe for disaster. They attacked one another, reproduced, and were forced to sit in wire cages for 2 years.
Many had missing lips, ripped ears, eye infections, body wounds, etc. It was a nightmare for all of the bunnies.
We took all 15 and got them fully vetted. The majority of the 15 bunnies wound up being fabulous bondmates to other bunnies and found homes rather quickly.
Tonight was Fairy Godmothers turn and she finally got her fairytale ending! She is the last of the F15 to go home, but you know what they say…good things come to those who wait.
Her new parents could not have been kinder or more loving. They both wore clothes with green and blue in them (even blue shoes), as those are the only colors that bunnies can see.
Her family showed up to bring her home tonight with the worlds biggest smiles. We know Fairy Godmother was quite pleased too, as they got her the hammock she kept going to sit on. A total 180 from the wire flooring she was forced to be on for years.
Fairy Godmother will primarily be a free roam bunny with the best life possible. This family’s excitement is something we wish for every bunparent.
Part of the Dolly’s Difference is the vetting we do to ensure that everybunny goes to their best possible home. We get to work with truly fabulous adopters and will start to share their stories more!
Congratulations Fairy Godmother and family. Have the most magical life together!
