Why Foster?
We asked a few of our foster families “why” they foster and here’s what they said:
“I’ve always had a soft spot for animals but there’s something about bunnies that really pulls at my heart. They’re just helpless, quiet little potatoes that need all the love and providing them a voice and helping them along to their forever families is a calling for me.” - Malia
“I foster because every living thing deserves to feel safe and loved. I also want my kids to know that even the smallest thing you can do to help makes a difference.” - Lindsey
“my favorite thing about fostering is how rewarding it is when a bunny gets placed with the perfect family and finds their forever home after going through so much. bunnies are so misunderstood and it’s been amazing learning all about them, and on a personal level since i adopted my bunny from dollys, i have experienced what it is like to have a bunny love you back and it’s the best bond ever ❤️” - Niccole
“I foster with my daughter to help her learn how to be empathetic towards all of God's creatures. Loving a bun is a different kind of love, you don't know till you know!” - Brandi
“Fostering is very rewarding and lots of fun! Helping to save an animals life is the best feeling ever!!” - Lori
“Adopting Budweiser. Hearing his story, seeing the other buns stories. Every life deserves love and buns have so much to give. I foster to help continue that cycle of love.” - Leo
“I foster because it's very rewarding. I love to see the bunnies open up and show their personalities once they start to feel safe. From being able to finally hop around to their first to taste of veggies, herbs and fruit.” - Rosa
“I foster because it saves lives. Bunny lives matter just as much as any other animal. I want to help bunnies who wouldn’t have had a chance for survival otherwise. To give them a loving home, yummy food, soft place to sleep, and lots of love until their forever home is available. That is why I chose to foster with Dolly’s because they give those who aren’t seen as lovable a chance to thrive and binky their hearts out. That’s the Dolly’s Difference for sure.” - Maegan
“Fostering is special to me, as it gives me an opportunity to be a part of bunny’s journey to a happy life. To see a bun come out of its “shell” and open up is an incredible thing. Then to be able to pass that information on to adopters makes a world of difference for everyone. It’s like being a bunny’s representative and be able to speak for them when they are too scared to.” - Ann
